The Detroit Pistons have withdrawn a previously proposed weight-related condition from their five-year, $200 million contract offer to Jalen Duren ahead of Thursday’s deadline.

The revised agreement, which Duren has not yet accepted, is now fully guaranteed and contains no provisions connected to the center’s weight.

Duren and his representatives were reportedly dissatisfied with Detroit’s initial decision to introduce weight-related requirements during contract discussions.

By removing the controversial provision, the Pistons could improve the atmosphere surrounding negotiations and potentially increase the likelihood of reaching an agreement.

The young center must make his decision by 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, when the deadline to accept Detroit’s long-term proposal or pursue an alternative contractual route expires.
