Men’s Soccer Loses to Undefeated Scots on the Road

WENHAM, Mass — Buccaneers men’s soccer traveled to the North Shore of Massachusetts on Wednesday for a non-conference match with the Gordon Fighting Scots. The undefeated Scots took the match from the Buccaneers 3-0.

Maritime

  • The Buccaneers took seven shots in the game with one on target coming from the foot of Brady KrugerCJ Vincent led the team in overall shots with two.
  • Goalkeeper Payton Neale faced four shots in the game, made one save and allowed the three goals.
  • The Bucs took seven shots, four in the first half, and had two second half corners in the loss.

Gordon

  • Benji Wright scored twice for the Scots in the win. Benny Simpson added the third goal for the hosts.
  • Noah Martin was the only player credited with an assists in the match.
  • Goalkeeper Gunnar Lucuk made a save on the only shot he faced.
  • Gordon took nine shots, four on target and had one corner in the game.

Hoe It Happened

Wright scored his first goal of the night to open the scoring and what would go on to be the game winner in the 16th minute with an assist from Martin. The Fighting Scots led the match 1-0 at half time.

In the second half, Simpson scored his goal in the 59th minute to make it 2-0. Wright scored his second late in to the second half in the 83rd minute to seal the 3-0 victory for Gordon.

What’s Next

The Buccaneers travel to Bridgewater State for a conference matchup with the Bears on Saturday, October 14th with kickoff set for 1pm.
