EuroLeague president Dejan Bodiroga has expressed confidence that Partizan and Crvena Zvezda will remain part of the competition in the long term as the league prepares to introduce a franchise system.
Speaking on “Radar Forum,” Bodiroga confirmed that both Belgrade clubs have submitted binding offers to secure franchise status, joining several other organizations interested in obtaining permanent membership.
The EuroLeague president emphasized that both Serbian teams have maintained positive relationships with the league’s leadership and have demonstrated their commitment to meeting the necessary requirements.
“Both clubs have a very good standing with our board. Through this process, their involvement and fulfilling all the requirements, I think they have very good chances of being in the EuroLeague,” Bodiroga said. “Simply put, I see them as long-term EuroLeague partners.”
Partizan and Crvena Zvezda have become important participants in the competition, with their strong fan support contributing to the EuroLeague’s atmosphere and popularity.
Their applications come during a period of significant changes, as the league considers a new membership structure designed to provide greater long-term stability for participating clubs.
Although neither Serbian club has officially secured franchise status, Bodiroga’s comments suggest that both are well-positioned to remain involved in the competition.
