Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has revealed his football ‘dream’ as transfer rumours continue to circulate about the in-forrm Swedish international.
The forward scored a brace in Newcastle’s fascinating 4-3 victory over Nottingham Forest, taking his tally this season to 19. This latest brace moves him level with Erling Haaland for the second most goals in the top flight this season behind Mohamed Salah.
Isak remains one of the most sought after strikers in the league, with Arsenal being a prominent admirer of the Swede. The Magpies have slapped a whopping £150m price tag on their talisman to try and ward off any early bids before Isak’s contract runs out in 2028.
Arsenal may have to spend big to get the striker they desperately need following a failed winter transfer window. But right now, Isak says he is happy with his current situation.
He told Prime Video Svergie: “Playing football at this level has always been a dream and probably the main dream that I’ve had. Playing in the Premier League for a club like Newcastle with a fan base like they have here is extra special.”

Magpies manager Eddie Howe has also made his feelings clear about not wanting Isak to leave.
“Yeah absolutely, there’s no part of me or anyone at Newcastle that wants to let Alex go,” he said. “He’s very much part of our long-term plans. Personally, I don’t see that being an issue.
He continued: “I think he’s got unique skills and I think the challenge for us this season has been able to try and get him into the game as much as we can. Early season we weren’t doing that as a team or functioning particularly well for him.
“…We’re seeing a return to his very best levels, highlighted by the goals he’s scoring really.”
Arsenal’s problems up front have been well documented this season and with Gabriel Jesus suffering from yet another long-term injury, this situation has been made worse following Kai Havertz’s recent season-ending injury.
Now, Mikel Arteta has resorted to Mikel Merino played in that centre-forward role, a position the Spaniard still has to prove himself in, only highlighting the need to bring in a proven goalscorer.
