The Denver Nuggets have reportedly put a long-term offer on the table for restricted free agent Peyton Watson, proposing a five-year contract worth $70 million.
Denver remains eager to retain the young forward, but doing so could further complicate its salary cap situation unless the team sheds payroll and drops below the NBA’s second apron.
Watson’s camp is believed to be seeking a deal closer to the five-year, $125 million extension Christian Braun received last October, especially after Watson outperformed Braun during the 2025-26 season.
Several teams have explored sign-and-trade possibilities for the 23-year-old, with the Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks all reportedly expressing interest.
Watson averaged 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 54 games last season, continuing his emergence as one of Denver’s best recent draft picks.
