Jannik Sinner will take the court as a Grand Slam champion for the first time next week at the ABN Amro Open in Rotterdam, where the Italian is the No.1 seed at the 500-level event.

Sinner’s potential route, if the seeds hold, to the title is as follows:
R1 Botic Van de Zandschulp
R2 Gael Monfils or qualifier
QF [8] Alexander Bublik
SF [4] Hubert Hurkacz
F [2] Andrey Rublev
Sinner will look to pick up points on the three players ranked ahead of him this week, as none are in action. Defending champion Daniil Medvedev, who defeated Sinner in the final last year at Rotterdam, has elected to skip the event in order to rest and recuperate his body after a grueling run to the Australian Open final.
22-year-old Sinner enters the week 455 points behind Medvedev but he can only gain 250 points as he is defending 250 from last year’s run to the final.
If he’s fresh, Sinner could very well run to the title. He has won 13 of his last 14 indoor matches and owns a 5-2 lifetime record at Rotterdam.
