The Brooklyn Nets have officially released their training camp roster ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season. The announcement, shared by Ian Begley on X, includes a mix of returning players, newcomers, and two-way contract signees.
Leading the roster is guard Ben Simmons, who will enter his seventh NBA season. Simmons is looking to bounce back after an injury-plagued 2023-24 campaign. Center Nic Claxton, who has been a consistent force for the Nets, also returns as one of the team’s key players.
Killian Hayes is a new addition to roster, while Dennis Schroder joined the Nets last season. Hayes, a French guard, is entering his fifth year in the NBA and brings additional depth to Brooklyn’s backcourt.
The roster also features forward Bojan Bogdanović, who brings a wealth of experience with ten seasons in the league. He is expected to contribute with his scoring ability and veteran leadership.
The young core of the Nets will include rising talents like Noah Clowney, Amari Bailey, and Dariq Whitehead. Clowney, a forward/center from Alabama, will look to make an impact in his second NBA season. Bailey, a guard from UCLA, and Whitehead, a versatile guard/forward from Duke, are both entering their sophomore seasons with the team.
Rookie signings include players like Yongxi (Jacky) Cui, who hails from China and is signed to a two-way contract. Another rookie is Jaylen Martin, a product of Overtime Elite, who also signed a two-way deal.
Dorian Finney-Smith, Cam Johnson, and Cam Thomas will all be pivotal pieces in Brooklyn’s plans for the upcoming season. Finney-Smith, a forward with eight years of NBA experience, will bring his defensive skills to the roster. Johnson, a versatile forward, and Thomas, an explosive scorer, are both returning players looking to elevate their games.
Day’Ron Sharpe, entering his fourth year, will add depth at the center position, while Ziaire Williams, a forward from Stanford, brings his athleticism and potential as a third-year player.
The coaching staff, led by head coach Jordi Fernandez, includes a diverse group of assistant coaches. Steve Hetzel, Juwan Howard, Jay Hernandez, and Dutch Gaitley are among those who will support Fernandez throughout the season.
