How It Happened
The Seahawks attacked immediately off of kick off and worked the ball down field earning a corner kick just under a minute in to the match. On that corner, Borges delivered the ball in to the box where the ball first met the head of David and fell to Goba who slotted the ball past Joia in to the net to give the Seahawks a 1-0 lead. Salve went on to take 10 more shots in the half with the Buccaneers defense holding strong and the Maritime offense was unable to take any shots in the first half. Salve led at the break, 1-0.
In the second, the teams were nearly even on shots with five for the Seahawks and four for the Bucs, and they were close on corners with three for Salve and two for Maritime. Despite each of the team’s chances in the offensive end, neither team was able to score in the second 45 minutes of play. The Seahawks left Buzzards Bay with a 1-0 win.
