Men’s Soccer: Bucs Lose Season Finale to Worcester on the Road

WORCESTER, Mass — Men’s soccer traveled to Worcester on Saturday to close out their 2022 season with a MASCAC matchup with the Lancers. Worcester State, who had yet to lose a game in conference, remained undefeated in MASCAC play with a 2-0 win over the Bucs to end the regular season.

Maritime took four shots, two on target from Jesus Sanchez and Nick Vanti. Goalkeeper Nicos Pattihis made three saves and allowed two goals in the loss.

Worcester got goals from Luke-Mark Anu and Waseem Mahmoud in the win. Assists came from Declan Ryder and Mal Hawkins. Goalkeeper Andy Ramirez made two saves in the win between the pipes.

Worcester scored both of their goals in the first half with the first from Anu in the 14th minute from Ryder. Late in the half, in the 45th minute, Mahmoud, from HAwkins, extended the lead with 25 seconds before the half. 

The Buccaneer defense held the Lancers in the second half and were unable to cut in to the lead as Worcester State won the match 2-0.
