NEWPORT, R.I. — Maritime men’s soccer took on Salve Regina on Tuesday evening in Rhode Island in non-conference play. Salve had a 1-0 lead for the majority of the second half and scored three goals in the final 10 minutes to down the Bucs 4-0.

- Five different players took shots in the game for the Bucs, one each. Brody Calvert and Kevin Ginnetty each had a shot on target.
- Freshman goalkeeper Kaden Winter made eight saves and allowed four goals on 12 shots.
Salve Regina
- Daniel Goba scored three goals in the match, all in the second half.
- Emmet Schuele scored the first goal of the game in the first half which proved to be the game winner.
- Michael Manousos recorded two assists in the match. Jordan Borges and Samuel Zwaly each had one helper.
- Goalkeeper Gabriel Bazikas made two saves on two shots to earn the clean sheet.
How It Happened
The teams combined for just eight shots in the first half and remained scoreless for the first 35 minutes. In the 26th minute, Schuele, from Zawaly, scored the first goal of the game to five the Seahawks a 1-0 lead. Salve took that lead into the halftime break.
In the second half, the Buccaneers defense held strong holding the one-goal deficit for the majority of the period. Then, in the 81st minute, Goba started a goal scoring streak to extend the ‘Hawks advantage. In the 81st minute he scored to make it 2-0, then again in the 87th and one more time in the 88th minute to put the Seahawks up 4-0, the eventual final of the match.
