Former NBA guard Jodie Meeks has officially joined the New Orleans Pelicans coaching staff, according to a team press release.

Meeks, who played 10 seasons in the NBA and was known for his sharpshooting, brings valuable experience to the Pelicans’ coaching ranks.

His transition into coaching reflects a growing trend of former players contributing to NBA teams in off-court roles.

In addition to Meeks’ hiring, the Pelicans also announced several other staff changes. Former WNBA star and Hall of Famer Swin Cash, who has been with the organization since 2019, was promoted to senior vice president of basketball operations.

Cash has been a key figure in shaping the Pelicans’ basketball strategy and her promotion reflects her growing influence within the organization.

Meanwhile, Rohan Ramadas, previously involved in the team’s analytical efforts, has been elevated to senior director of analytics and innovation, underscoring the team’s commitment to data-driven decision-making.

New Orleans also officially announced the hiring of Dan Geriot as an assistant coach. Geriot, who has experience as an assistant coach in the NBA, will bring additional tactical expertise to the coaching staff.

Additionally, former NBA center Greg Monroe was named a player development assistant.

Monroe, known for his post-play during his time in the league, will focus on helping young Pelicans players develop their skills, particularly in the frontcourt.

These moves signal a continued effort by the Pelicans to bolster their staff as they aim for a successful season.
