The Miami Heat have signed Caleb Daniels to an Exhibit 10 contract, as reported by NBA insider Anthony Chiang. This deal serves as a training camp invitation for Daniels, who will compete for a spot on the roster.
Daniels went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft but joined the Heat for the 2023 NBA Summer League. His performance in the Summer League earned him a shot at making the Heat’s final roster for the upcoming season.
Daniels previously signed with Miami in August 2023 before being waived in late September. He spent time with the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the G League following his release. In his time with Sioux Falls, Daniels averaged 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
Daniels’ college career included stints at both Tulane and Villanova, where he developed into a solid all-around guard. At Tulane, he posted career highs of 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists during his sophomore season.
After transferring to Villanova, Daniels overcame health challenges, including a battle with myocarditis in 2021. Despite his health setbacks, he averaged 14.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in his super-senior season.
The Exhibit 10 contract allows the Heat to assess Daniels’ potential throughout training camp. If he impresses, he could secure a spot with Miami or be converted to a two-way contract.
The Heat have a crowded preseason roster, with Daniels being one of 21 players currently on the team’s training camp roster. His performance in camp will be crucial to his chances of making the final cut.
