Novak Djokovic is riding a three-match losing streak after his loss to Matteo Arnaldi in Madrid. It will stay that way for a while, as the 24-time major champion has announced his withdrawal from next week’s Internazionali BNL D’italia in Rome.

The tournament announced that the six-time champion would not play on Tuesday evening.

There is no official reason listed at the moment, but this is a very surprising decision, as the Serbian legend used to always prioritize Rome, where he debuted in 2007 and had never missed a year since. He owns a 68-12 lifetime record at the Foro Italico in his 18 career appearances.
