The FA Cup quarter-final draw will be made on Sunday evening after a thrilling weekend of fifth round action across the country.

Aston Villa kicked off the action on Friday night with a 2-0 victory over the only Welsh club left in the competition, Cardiff City. On Saturday, it was the turn of Crystal Palace to take to the pitch as they faced fierce rivals Millwall in a heated South London derby.

Injury to Jean-Philippe Mateta threatened to overshadow proceedings but against ten men, Palace were no match for their Championship neighbours. Japhet Tanganga’s own goal and Daniel Munoz’s prodded effort gave the Eagles a foothold in the contest.

Wes Harding’s deflected strike gave the visitors hope but Eddie Nketiah’s looping header was enough to seal progression for Palace. Fulham will be hoping that they can join Palace in the quarter-final draw when they travel to Manchester United.

Marco Silva’s side will be hoping to capitalise on United’s poor form to be the second London representative in the last eight. The draw for the quarter-final will take place following the clash at Old Trafford with just one tie on Monday night left to play as Nottingham Forest host Ipswich Town.
