Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra remains confident in Klay Thompson’s shooting ability, emphasizing the defensive attention the veteran guard continues to command.
Spoelstra discussed how Thompson and Giannis Antetokounmpo create different challenges for opposing defenses, pointing to their established reputations as two of the NBA’s most difficult players to guard.
“You have two players (Giannis/Klay) with great reputations. They’re well-earned. One (Giannis) requires 2-3 defenders to stay in front of him, and that’s been league-wide for several years – we used to do it to him.
“The other one (Klay) has basically earned the reputation of never taking a body off of him, and we had that game plan against him as well … that’s Hall of Fame earned.”
