Edinburgh Rugby squad update
Edinburgh Rugby has issued the following squad update:
Back-three players Darcy Graham and Wes Goosen both picked up quad injuries in the EPCR Challenge Cup Round 3 match against Gloucester.
Graham has been ruled out for at least the first two games of the Guinness Six Nations while Goosen is considered week to week.
Graham has been replaced in the Scotland squad by Great Britain 7s winger Ross McCann who made his Edinburgh Rugby debut earlier this season – becoming Edinburgh player #1323 – featuring in wins over Dragons RFC and Emirates Lions.
Centre Mark Bennett and prop Robin Hislop both sustained knee injuries in this month’s Gloucester match.
Bennett is expected to return to training at the end of the month, while Hislop’s injury is considered more long term, with an exact return to play timeline still to be confirmed.
Javan Sebastian (knee), Connor Boyle (neck), Jamie Hodgson (shin), Ben Muncaster (foot) and Nathan Sweeney (hamstring) all continue to progress well in their rehab and are all expected to return to training next month.
The club is further boosted by prop Luan de Bruin’s return to full training, while winger Jake Henry (knee) is expected to be fully fit by the end of the month.
Edinburgh Rugby can also confirm back-row Cam Neild and stand-off Tim Swiel have now left the club following the conclusion of their short-term deals. The club thanks both players for their hard work and dedication during their time in the capital.
Stay tuned to the club’s website and social channels for further injury updates.
