Milwaukee Bucks legend Junior Bridgeman has officially become a significant minority owner of the team.

The announcement was made at the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Science Center by Bridgeman and Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam.

Bridgeman, who spent the majority of his NBA career with the Bucks, expressed his excitement about returning to the organization.

“I’m overjoyed to return to the Bucks, where I spent the heart of my NBA playing career, to join their world-class ownership group,” Bridgeman said.

He thanked Bucks co-owners Wes Edens, Dee and Jimmy Haslam, Jamie Dinan, and Mike Fascitelli for welcoming him back.

The Bucks’ ownership group released a statement highlighting Bridgeman’s contributions both on and off the court.

“Junior’s retired No. 2 jersey hangs in Fiserv Forum with other Bucks legends, a constant reminder of Junior’s impact on the Bucks’ great history,” the group said.

Bridgeman’s success after his playing career, particularly in the business world, has been widely recognized.

Following his retirement from the NBA, Bridgeman became the Owner and CEO of Bridgeman Foods, operating over 450 Wendy’s and Chili’s restaurants in 20 states until 2016.

In 2017, Bridgeman Foods acquired Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company, LLC, making Bridgeman an independent bottler for Coca-Cola.

His business acumen, combined with his connection to the Bucks, makes him a valuable addition to the ownership group.

Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam praised Bridgeman’s dedication and influence in the business community and the NBA.

Bridgeman, who played in 711 games with the Bucks, is considered one of the best sixth men in NBA history.

He ranks among the Bucks’ all-time leaders in games played, points, and field goals made.

During his 10 seasons with the team, Bridgeman helped lead the Bucks to eight playoff appearances.

His impact on the franchise is still felt today, as evidenced by his No. 2 jersey hanging in the rafters of Fiserv Forum.

Bridgeman hopes his journey from NBA player to owner will inspire future generations of athletes.

“I hope that my life journey serves as an inspiration to current and future players who dream of joining an NBA ownership group,” Bridgeman said.

His partnership with the Bucks dates back more than 25 years, as Bridgeman Foods and the Bucks have collaborated on various promotions.
