Arsenal supporters have been having their say after their Premier League title hopes suffered another setback on Wednesday night. The Gunners were held to a 0-0 by Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, while, at the same time, Liverpool were beating Newcastle United 2-0 at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s side are now 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table. And below is a round-up of what Gunners supporters have had to say on their side.
Mrafiqabd said: “Forget about this season. Start planning for the next season and do it right this time. Gunners forever!”
Admin4321 remarked: “Arsenal is finally out of the title race, but must battle for the top four.” Commenter Narsil agrees: “It’s over. Liverpool can save their efforts for the CL. They need to win 4 more games in the PL, and the first is home to Southampton!”
Bubbalu wrote: “Arsenal are still the best defensive team at this time, but due to the failure of not having the best scoring players/strikers, it is quite remarkable to be in second place still. If we had top finishers for the third year running, we would have have two titles and would be running away with another.”
On our Facebook page, fans are less forgiving, with Getu Nigussie saying: “Please sack Arteta, and say thank you for what he did until today. He is not the right manager for Arsenal. We don’t need the ‘beautiful game’ we need to be champions. We don’t need to win single games, rather, we need to win the cups. Arteta is not a fully skilled manager.”
AB Boji’a Danu thinks: “Nothing more proves that he can’t get anywhere without a No. 9 player. This proves that the management, board and owner, not the club manager, have zero interest in the trophy.”
Samuel Buanie said: “Unrealistic expectations. You can’t win the Premier League when a third of the players are injured, especially important ones.”
