Arsenal dream line-up after Joshua Kimmich ‘signing’ in crucial summer transfer plan

Arsenal will already have an eye on the summer transfer window, and may already be considering which players they want to sign ahead of next season.

It was only a few weeks ago that the Gunners were heavily linked with signing a striker when the January window was open. In the end, Arsenal opted not to bring in a new centre forward to strengthen the squad and will now have to wait until the end of the season to go into the market once again.

While a new striker has been the position the majority of Arsenal supporters would say is the most essential area of a squad in need of reinforcements, that’s not where one of the latest rumours suggests the Gunners are looking to strengthen.

Sky Germany have reported that Arsenal are showing an interest in signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season, with reports recently suggesting that an extension is not close to being agreed.

If Kimmich was to be available on a free transfer, it would not be a surprise if Arsenal are among the clubs interested in signing the versatile midfielder. The 30-year-old would likely go straight into the starting line-up in the middle of the park alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

Kimmich is not the only midfielder to be linked with Arsenal in recent months. Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi has been mentioned as a potential target, with the Spain international almost signing for Liverpool last summer before deciding to stay with the La Liga club.

It remains to be seen what players will be on Arsenal’s shortlist for the summer transfer window. A new striker is likely to be on the agenda but with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus still out of action, that moment can’t come quick enough.
