Olympiacos Piraeus have decided to leave Tyler Dorsey out of their EuroLeague Round 6 matchup against FC Barcelona following the guard’s controversial comments on Instagram.
The Greek-American player will return to Athens instead of remaining with the team in Spain, while Olympiacos have reportedly requested an explanation for his public statements.
The situation developed after AS Monaco forward Jaron Blossomgame discussed Dorsey during an appearance on the Triple Threat Show, suggesting that the guard’s skills were replaceable.
Dorsey responded publicly, questioning his situation at Olympiacos and expressing frustration with the club’s coaching staff.
“[Jaron Blossomgame] if what I do is replaceable why they don’t just go ahead and let me go now especially if they don’t want to pay me, why waste time and drama. Why the coaching staff got that fear in there heart? Let’s find out,” he wrote.
Following the comments, Olympiacos decided to exclude Dorsey from the upcoming game against Barcelona and instructed him to return to Greece.
According to Sport24, the club has also asked the player to explain his statements.
