Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has acknowledged that the franchise has struggled to build another championship-caliber roster since winning the NBA title in 2022.
Speaking to NBC Sports Bay Area, Curry discussed the organization’s attempts to improve its roster over the past several seasons and admitted that some decisions have not worked out as expected.
“I mean, I’m not an idiot. I know what it means in the sense of that window we had where coming off of ‘22, there were opportunities to get better, add new talent, and some worked out, some didn’t. And the jury is still out on how we end this entire journey with a competitive mindset,” Curry said.
The Warriors have been unable to replicate their 2022 championship success despite making changes to their roster.
Curry, who recently signed a two-year contract extension with Golden State, remains committed to competing for another title.
The franchise is projected to have more than $50 million in salary cap space this offseason, potentially allowing it to make additional roster improvements.
