Ben Shelton, Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic will all be in action on Friday, as well as Flavio Cobolli, Frances Tiafoe and Lorenzo Musetti.
Djokovic, fresh off his Beijing title, makes his 12th Shanghai appearance. He will face a tough challenge in hard-serving Hubert Hurkacz. Djokovic is a four-time champion in Shanghai, and has won the Beijing-Shanghai double three times, in 2012, 2013 and 2015).
