The Atlanta Hawks have signed former first-round pick Keon Johnson to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Brad Rowland.
Johnson, selected No. 21 overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2021 NBA Draft, has spent the past five seasons moving between the NBA and G League while looking to establish himself as a consistent rotation player.
The guard began his professional career with the Clippers during the 2021-22 season, appearing in 15 games and averaging 3.5 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists in nine minutes per game. He also played 16 games with the Agua Caliente Clippers that season, producing 15.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Johnson was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers during that season and played 22 games for the team, averaging 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 25.5 minutes.
He remained with Portland for the 2022-23 campaign, appearing in 40 games and averaging 4.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
Johnson subsequently joined the Brooklyn Nets organization. He played five NBA games in 2023-24 while spending most of the season with the Long Island Nets, where he averaged 17.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 39 games.
The 24-year-old received a larger NBA opportunity with Brooklyn in 2024-25, playing 79 games and averaging 10.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 24.4 minutes. He shot 38.9% from the field and 31.4% from three-point range.
Johnson spent part of the 2025-26 season with the Maine Celtics, averaging 16.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists across 15 games. He shot 41.3% from the field and 28.2% from three-point range.
The Hawks have been active in cycling players through Exhibit 10 agreements as they finalize their roster ahead of training camp. Johnson joins Isaac McKneely, who Atlanta signed earlier in the week, as another young player receiving an opportunity to compete for a place in the organization.
Atlanta enters the 2026-27 season after losing to the New York Knicks in the first round of the playoffs. The Hawks have reshaped their roster around Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker while adding veteran experience through players such as Luguentz Dort and Aaron Wiggins.
