Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom is urging parents and athletes to speak publicly about men’s participation in women’s sports.
“This shouldn’t even be like a right or left issue. This should just be common sense,” Freedom said.
He called on parents to defend their children when it comes to biological males sharing locker rooms, showers and bathrooms with girls, while arguing that more athletes should be willing to state their views publicly.
Freedom has also inserted himself into the WNBA eligibility debate by declaring for the 2027 WNBA Draft, a move intended to challenge the league over its transgender athlete policies.
He pointed to Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham as an example of an athlete willing to publicly address the issue.
“We need more people like Sophie Cunningham to come out and stand for what they believe in,” Freedom said.
“This shouldn’t even be like a right or left issue. This should just be common sense.”
