The debate over Stephen Curry’s future has resurfaced after the Warriors failed to make any significant moves this offseason.
Curry is still performing at an elite level, averaging 26.6 points and 4.7 assists last season, but Golden State has done little to improve a roster that already missed the playoffs in two of the past three years.
The situation became even more difficult after Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody suffered injuries, while the Warriors reportedly passed on opportunities to pursue Jaylen Brown and Anthony Davis.
Their hopes of adding LeBron James also ended when he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Despite the speculation, Curry’s departure remains highly unlikely.
The four-time NBA champion has spent his entire 17-year career with Golden State, helping transform the franchise into one of basketball’s modern dynasties.
Steve Kerr returned for another contract largely because of Curry, while Draymond Green has often said he wants to retire alongside him.
Although the Warriors have insisted they are still trying to compete for championships, the lack of offseason additions leaves Curry carrying most of the burden once again.
Polymarket recently placed Curry’s chances of leaving at just 6%, and with a two-year, $136.7 million extension available on Aug. 27, all signs continue to point toward him finishing his career with the only franchise he has ever represented.
