Rudy Gobert’s long-term future with the Minnesota Timberwolves is reportedly becoming a topic of discussion around the league.
According to Jake Fischer, while Gobert has played a major role in Minnesota’s regular-season success over the years, concerns remain about his offensive limitations and long-term fit.
“Rudy Gobert, as much as he’s been an absolute floor raiser that helped Minnesota win significant games in regular season year after year, his shortcomings offensively have been shown,” Fischer said.
Fischer acknowledged that Gobert performed well during Minnesota’s playoff matchup against Nikola Jokic earlier this spring, but added that doubts still exist internally regarding the veteran center’s future value.
“I do think there are starting to be some questions in Minnesota about the viability of Gobert long-term,” Fischer said.
