Rob Pelinka, the President of Basketball Operations and General Manager of the Los Angeles Lakers, discussed the future of Austin Reaves as the guard heads into unrestricted free agency this offseason.

According to the GM, both Reaves and the Lakers are strongly aligned in their desire to continue the partnership.

Reaves has steadily developed into one of the Lakers’ most dependable contributors since beginning his NBA career in Los Angeles.

Pelinka spoke positively about the relationship between the player and the organization, suggesting that both sides are motivated to work out a long-term agreement.

“He started his journey here as a Laker and has made it very clear to us that he wants his journey to continue as a Laker,” Pelinka said.

“And we feel the same way. We want his odyssey to continue to unfold in the purple and gold. … Both sides have made it abundantly clear that we want to work something out where he continues his prolific career here.”

Reaves has played 5 seasons for the Lakers. He has averaged 15.8 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds in 331 regular-season games.
