BUZZARDS BAY, Mass — The Buccaneers welcomed Coast Guard to Clean Harbors Stadium on Tuesday evening for their final non-conference game of the season. The teams went to the half scoreless and in the second half, the Bears scored twice to take the match, 2-0.
Goalkeeper Nicos Pattihis made 10 saves, many of which were acrobatic, in the loss. Jesus Sanchez and CJ Vincent each had a shot on target in the loss. Ethan Somers was credited with a defensive save for keeping a Bears shot out of the net in the first half.
Charles Fish scored the first Coast Guard goal and the game winner, unassisted, in the 63rd minute. In the 81st minute, Micah Messner scored on a pass from Michael O’Brien to make it 2-0. Goalkeeper Josh Hudson made two saves in the win.
Coast Guard outshot the Bucs 28-9 in the match and have four corner kicks to the Buccaneers three.
The Buccaneers are back home for senior night and their final regular season home game on Friday, October 21st at 7pm against MASCAC opponent Bridgewater State.
