How It Happened

Maritime held off the Rams for the first half of the first half though they allowed eight shots. Maritime took four shots of their own trying to break through early. In the 26th minute, Sinha scored to put the Rams on the board and give them a 1-0 lead. The first half ended with Framingham leading 1-0.

In the second half, much like the first half, both teams took their chances, especially the Bucs with 15 shots in the second 45 minutes. It took more than 30 minutes but the Rams eventually extended their lead to 2-0 on Malachie’s first score of the season from Santos Da Silva. Santos Da Silva got a shot off that went off Winter and right to the foot of Malachie and he dribbled in to score. In the 84th, on a misplay by the Buccaneers defense, Santos Da Silva recorded his first goal of the season to give the Rams a 3-0 advantage. The Bucs didn’t go away, continuing to attack up the middle. In the 86th minute, a Buccaneer was taken down in the box and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Calvert stepped up and buried his 10th goal of the season to make the score 3-1. Framingham held on for the last five minutes and earned the 3-1 conference win over Maritime.
