CAMBRIDGE, Mass — Buccaneers senior defensive End Hugh Wells has been named to the New England Football Writer’s Divison II/III All-New England Team the organization announced on Monday. Hugh joins 31 other New England football players from 22 schools and six new england Division II and III football conferences on the team.
Last week, Wells was named to the MASCAC All-Conference 1st Team Defense and to the Noontime Sports All-New England 1st Team Defense. With his selection to the NEFW All-New England Team he is the second Buccaneer defensive lineman to be named to the team since 2019 when Kyle Johnston was selected.
This season, Hugh racked up a league-high 10 sacks and 20 tackles for loss and totaled 59 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception, four pass breakups and a blocked field goal on special teams.
Hugh and the rest of the honorees will be celebrated at the New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquest on Thursday, December 8th at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Center.
