Marc Guiu has exchanged jokes with Chelsea newbie Kendry Paez on Instagram as the teenager settles into life in London.
The 17-year-old moved to West London earlier this year ahead of being able to play for the Blues after he turns 18 in May.
The Blues agreed a deal with Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle to sign the midfielder in June 2023, with Paez emerging as one of the most exciting talents in South America.
After debuting for Independiente del Valle in February 2023, Paez scored 13 goals and provided six assists in 70 appearances. Paez has also made 17 appearances for the Ecuadorian national team.
But now as the 17-year-old gears up for life as a Premier League player, he has been taking in the sights of London. Earlier this week, the midfielder uploaded a selection of pictures to his Instagram of him observing some of the tourist attractions in the capital; such as Big Ben, the London Eye, and the red phone boxes.
On his post, Paez’s new Chelsea team-mate Marc Guiu left a comment in Spanish, which translated to: “The Leaflet”.
It is unsure what Guiu meant by the comment, but one can only assume it is the Spaniard’s way of poking fun at Paez’s recent London sightseeing tour.
It was recently claimed that Chelsea moved to bring Paez over to West London before his 18th birthday to help the £17.2m signing settle into life in Europe before he is eligible to officially pull on a Blue shirt next season.
It is claimed that Paez was scouted by the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Manchester United before signing for Chelsea 18 months ago.
