Kevin Danso makes Tottenham feelings clear on Man City defeat with seven-word verdict

Kevin Danso has sent a clear Tottenham message after the narrow Premier League defeat to Manchester City. Erling Haaland grabbed the only goal of the game inside 12 minutes with Ederson making some important saves to deny Spurs an equaliser.

Son Heung-min and Pape Matar Sarr both went close in the final stages either side of a controversial Haaland strike being disallowed for handball. With the Lilywhites having the bulk of possession and chances in the second half, Ange Postecoglou was of the belief the points should have been shared.

“Yeah I think so,” he said when asked if Spurs should have at least picked up a point. “First half we were just a little bit too eager to get forward with the ball. I thought we were really wasteful and when you are (like that) against City it allows them to get into a rhythm of their game.

“They can pick you off at different times and we just didn’t handle that part of the game well. They scored and had a couple of good chances to get further ahead.

“I certainly felt second half we dominated the game and territory. We were pretty relentless. Much better with the ball and a lot calmer but just missing a goal and ultimately fell short.”

While Pedro Porro and Mathys Tel endured difficult nights, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Danso were all very impressive.

The latter has barely put a foot wrong since arriving in the January transfer window which has quickly seen him become very popular among supporters.

An honest message has since been sent by the Austria international after the defeat and his battle against Haaland.

His Instagram post was captioned: “Not the result we wanted. Onwards & upwards: COYS.” Spurs now have seven days to prepare for their next game which is their Europa League first leg last-16 clash against AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands with the return leg the following week after a home clash against Bournemouth.
