Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are gearing up for the huge Istanbul derby against Galatasaray this evening.
Fenerbahce, who are unbeaten in their last eight games, dating back to the start of December, will look to close the gap to just three points to their arch rivals. A foreign referee has been appointed to officiate the game, given how crucial it is for the Turkish Super Lig title race.
“The decision has been made and he [Slavko Vincic] is a top-level referee, I think it is important for credibility,” Mourinho told Turkish outlet Hurriyet. “I am happy with this decision. Although it may not seem like it sometimes, I am a person who wants fair play. We want to win, they want to win. I hope it will be a big match.”
Despite being just six points behind Galatasaray in the table, the Portuguese boss believes decisions against his team have cost them up to 15 points this term. “Normally, we should be eight or nine points ahead,” the former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager added.
With that said, football.london has taken a look at all the details on how to follow the game.
