Hello and welcome to the football.london daily Chelsea live blog. February is upon us and it’s still a busy month even if the transfer window is closed.
Chelsea have announced their one and only signing of the January transfer window, with the arrival of midfielder Mathis Amougou from Saint-Etienne. The 19-year-old has arrived in a £12 million deal and has put pen-to-paper on a eight year contract at Stamford Bridge.
For Chelsea, there was more an emphasis on outgoings over the last month. Joao Felix was the final exit with his loan move to Serie A giants AC Milan confirmed on Tuesday.
A total of 17 players left the club, with most on loan deals. Cesare Casadei was one permanent exit with the midfielder joining Torino for a fee of around £12.5 million.
While the transfer window may now be shut, it doesn’t stop talks of approaches and deals that weren’t completed throughout the month. Eyes also, of course, look ahead to the summer transfer window, with plans already being put into place for movement throughout the league.
