Pedro Neto has revealed he wants to “do much better” in a Chelsea shirt as he strives for more consistency.

The 24-year-old made the move to west London from Wolves in the summer, with the Blues paying around £54million for his services. The Portuguese international has scored three goals and assisted a further five in 26 appearances this season, although with the likes of Noni Madueke and Jadon Sancho in the squad, competition is fierce.

Neto is now determined to reach greater heights and is committed to pushing himself further. Speaking to the Chelsea website, the former Wolves man said: “I want to do better, to be honest.

“I know I can do much better. I’ve had good moments during the season, but I know I can do much better. I’m working on it. The goal is to do my best, improve and reach my level. That is my goal. I have to finish in the best way.”

Neto added that Enzo Maresca is playing a key role in his improvement at Chelsea, with the tricky winger an admirer of the Italian’s work. ‘It’s really good to have a manager that has the mentality that he has,” Neto said.

“He wants us to work hard every day if we want to play. It’s the mentality that every player has to have so we arrive at the top. We need to work hard together so we can reach our top level. It’s about consistency and hard work.”

Next up for Chelsea is a match against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge, with the Hammers making the trip across the capital on Monday night. A win for the Blues could see them move up to fourth, should Man City drop points at Arsenal on Sunday.
