Novak Djokovic is out of Davis Cup.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion has officially withdrawn from Davis Cup to recover from the muscle tear he suffered in his left leg that forced him to retire from last week’s Australian Open semifinals.

No. 6-seeded Serbia will face host Denmark in this weekend’s Davis Cup Qualifier First Round on hard court in Copenhagen.

Former world No. 1 Djokovic led Serbia to the 2010 Davis Cup championship and owns Serbian Davis Cup records for most wins (46-16) and most singles wins (41-8).

The muscle tear Djokovic suffered at the Australian Open could take six to eight weeks to fully heal, doctors said.
