Leicester City have been handed a big injury boost ahead of the Premier League clash against Chelsea with captain Jamie Vardy returning to training.
The striker missed the 3-0 defeat against Manchester United before the international break due to a back injury. At the time, no timeline was given on his recovery, but it seems that he could at least play a part when Chelsea travel to the King Power Stadium on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm kick-off).
A video shared by Leicester City’s official X (formerly Twitter) account shows Vardy making his way out to training with the rest of the squad while shovelling snow and throwing it up in the air.
The news will come as a huge boost for Steve Cooper with Leicester failing to score in the Premier League for the first time against man United – the only league game that Vardy has missed so far this season. The 37-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down with four goals and an assist in his 10 Premier League appearances.
The Foxes will be without midfielder Facudo Buonanotte through suspension. They also have doubts over Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu who were injured while on international duty for Ghana.
Leicester could however welcome striker Patson Daka back for the first time this season. The forward returned to training before the international break after recovering from a knee injury suffered in the final game of pre-season.
For Enzo Maresca, he has doubts over several players for the game. Key player Cole Palmer has however been spotted in training ahead of the match, as well as Levi Colwill and Jadon Sancho.
