Miles Bridges recently revealed that both the LA Clippers and Cleveland Cavaliers showed strong interest in signing him. In an interview with The Charlotte Observer, Bridges discussed his offseason, shedding light on the teams vying for his services.
“For me, it really wasn’t that much because I got away,” Bridges explained, referring to his time spent in Hawaii with his trainer. He kept his distance from rumors and only communicated with his agents about potential opportunities. Among the legitimate interests were the Clippers, who were looking to bolster their roster following Paul George’s move to Philadelphia.
Bridges acknowledged the Clippers as a serious contender, stating, “Yeah, the Clippers are a great organization. They wanted me, the Cavaliers wanted me.” However, he emphasized that finding the right fit for himself and his family was the most important factor in his decision-making process.
Ultimately, Bridges chose to re-sign with the Charlotte Hornets on a three-year, $75 million deal in July 2024.
Last season, he averaged 21 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 37.4 minutes per game, solidifying his value as a key player for the Hornets.
Bridges’ return to the Hornets followed a turbulent period in his career. In 2023, he was suspended for 30 games due to a domestic violence incident, which affected his standing with the NBA. However, he worked through the challenges and made a strong comeback.
