With the dust from the red brick just barely settling in Paris, it’s time to start the ramp-up to the US Open.

Action kicks off in Montreal for the men of the ATP Tour this week, with main draw play commencing on Tuesday at the National Bank Open.

Jannik Sinner, who missed the Olympic Games due to tonsillitis will take his place as the top seed in a draw that will not feature Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic. Alexander Zverev is the No.2 seed, Daniil Medvedev is the No.3 seed and Hubert Hurkacz, returning from a knee injury he suffered at Wimbledon, is the No.4 seed.

That sets up potential quarterfinals as follows, if the seeds hold:

Sinner, the current World No.1, is defending the title in Montreal. He won his first Masters 1000 title last year in Toronto.

Medvedev, who is back on his favorite surface after a long slog through clay and grass, won the title in Canada in 2021.

Key first-round matchups in Montreal include: Holger Rune vs Milos Raonic, Arthur Fils vs Ugo Humbert, Ben Shelton vs Alexander Bublik and Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Flavio Cobolli.
