Pulling on the iconic black-and-white hoops of Barbarian F.C. represents one of the highest honours in a rugby player’s career – with the shirt is complemented by socks belonging to a club of each player’s choosing – from current clubs to their very first grassroots side.
The BaaBaas ethos is rooted in flair, courage, spirit and passion – words that testify to the Barbarians’ mission: to celebrate the sport and the values it represents by world-class skills, alongside integrity, friendship and enjoyment, creating lifelong connections between players regardless of nationality, language or club.
“We are indeed proud that the Macron Hero shall appear on one of the most famous shirts in the world of rugby,” commented Gianluca Pavanello, CEO of Macron. “We have always shared the values that rugby represents and we thoroughly concur with the philosophy which has shaped the history of the Barbarians. We shall be working together to achieve our goals with maximum commitment and with the greatest pleasure. This shall stimulate us to create a sportswear collection worthy of the legend of the Barbarians.”
The new match apparel will be worn for the first time at the Killik Cup, in which the Barbarians will take on Fiji on Saturday 22 June 2024 at Twickenham Stadium.
John Spencer, President of Barbarian F.C., said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership with Macron as our new official technical partner. Macron has become a significant name in rugby and we are looking forward to working with them ahead of this year’s Killik Cup and beyond.
“Macron is known for cutting-edge, high-performance sportswear for athletes from grassroots to professionals, building a community of passionate sportspeople – which is exactly what we at the Barbarians strive to do. We are proud to have these values closely aligned.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Gilbert for their support of the club, which will continue as part of the Barbarians family in providing match balls for our fixtures.”
