With the WNBA expanding to a 44-game schedule, there will be more action than ever during the 2025 season.

With the Golden State Valkyries joining the WNBA, excitement is at an all-time high in the Bay Area. Golden State has arrived, and with the Valkyries playing inside Chase Center, expect it to be electrifying for their season opener against the Los Angeles Sparks on May 16.
With their first game at home against their (should be) in-state rival, this will be a game no WNBA fan misses. Seeing how this new fanbase shows up for their team and how the rivalry between them and the Sparks begins is reason enough to tune in.
Caitlin Clark vs. Angel Reese
Last year, every time the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever played, it was must-see TV. With the star power of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, these contests were very intense, and a couple of the games came down to the wire.
Everyone came out in 2024 to watch these two exhilarating players; the same will happen in 2025.
The Fever and Sky will play each other five times this year, once a month, with the first matchup happening on May 17. Mark your calendars and prepare to watch the future of the WNBA battle it out in the Midwest.
Candace Parker jersey retirement
The Sparks will honor Candace Parker this season, retiring her jersey and hanging her No. 3 in the rafters of Crypto.com Arena when they play the Sky on June 29.
Parker will be the third Sparks player to have her jersey retired, joining Penny Toler and Lisa Leslie. This honor is rare, and Parker is one of the all-time greats who more than deserves it. Every fan of the game should watch this historic moment.
WNBA Finals rematch
The New York Liberty beat the Minnesota Lynx to win the 2024 WNBA Finals. It was a competitive and emotional series. We’ll get the first rematch between these titans on July 30.
